UCO Titan Ferro Rod
Ferrocerium rod, ferro rod, metal match, fire steel, manmade flint... By whatever name you call it, this blend of ferrocerium and rare earth metals is an excellent addition to your fire kit. The UCO Titan is a fat 1/2" thick and includes a generously sized striker, features that make it easy to use when dexterity is limited, or for younger adventurers who sometimes feel nervous about being too close to the sparks they are making. Works when wet and can ignite a tinder bundle, emergency fire starter, or wood shavings for fire in almost any conditions you find yourself in. UCO rates this ferro rod at 20,000 strikes. That's a lot of fires! The striker has a bunch of extra "features" like being able to turn various size hex head bolts. The urge to make everything multipurpose strikes us as a bit silly, but maybe that will come in handy for you someday. If so please let us know the story!
